In 2026, the Albert Camus Media Library in Antibes is showcasing several of my artist’s books through two exhibitions. From Kenneth White to Bernard Noël, and including Michel Butor for his centenary, these events highlight the unique dialogues between their writing and my visual art.

In this 2026 edition, the book unfolds as a leporello (concertina-style), much like a landscape. It does not recount the journey; rather, it captures its imprint. Carborundum, volcanic sands, relief textures, and Falun red bring out the ruggedness and energy of Iceland, while the poem extends its inner resonance.

The Library of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris has just enriched its collections with a new artist’s book by Bernard Alligand: Carré des météores (Square of Meteors), which joins Pénélope. For Bernard Alligand, Iceland is no longer merely a landscape; it is a raw material. For over twenty years, the French artist has drawn inspiration there that is as tangible as it is elemental. On June 12 in Paris, Kristín Scheving—director of the Árnes Art Museum in Hveragerði—accepted a donation of nine works from the artist, cementing the dialogue between France and this land of ice and fire.
