AQUAGRAVURE

THE YEAR 2007 - CRUCIAL - MARKS THE "ENTRY INTO FORCE" OF AQUAGRAVURE.

Aquagravure is characterized by the simultaneous creation of paper and engraving. The artist engraves and sculpts his motif in bas-relief on a wax plate. A flexible mold is made from this creation. The sheet of paper is made in the workshop with paper pulp, then deposited in the chosen format, on a support in the press. The mold is colored "with the doll", manual technique, for each print, before being positioned on the paper pulp. The pressing is done gradually until it reaches several tons to drive the water out of the paper and impose on it the imprint of the work by molding. so that the paper becomes a constitutive element of the work. This technique opens the way to new fields of creativity thanks to its possibilities of volume and material.
